The average age of cars in Ukraine according to statistics for 2021 is 22.7 years. This information was published by the Ukrainian Auto Industry Federation based on data from Auto-Consulting.
The car fleet of Ukraine continues to age – in 2020 this figure was 22.4 years. It’s not surprising since 39% of cars recently imported into Ukraine are over 8 years old.

However, it is pleasing that the number of cars in Ukraine is growing and has surpassed 10 million. More precisely, as of January 1, 2021, there were 10.2 million compared to 9.7 million a year earlier. Of these, 8.8 million are passenger cars.
It turns out that there are 245 cars per 1000 people in Ukraine, which is a record for the entire history. For comparison, in 1991 there were only 58 cars per 1000 people, and buying a car during the USSR was much more difficult.
Also, the number of electric cars and hybrids in our country is steadily growing. Over just two years (from 2019 to 2021), the fleet of electric vehicles increased from 9.9 to 23.7 thousand, and hybrid cars from 12.1 to 33.6 thousand.
