Surely you’ve read about the electric Zaporozhets, which was created by the efforts of the people of Odessa. But in fact, at one time there was not only an electric Tavria, but also an electric Zaporozhets ZAZ-968.
The electric Zaporozhets was created back in 1973 (!) at the Zaporizhzhia Mechanical Engineering Institute. And although there is very little data about the Ukrainian electric car, and only one photograph has survived to this day, as history tells, the electric ZAZ was equipped with a 4-kilowatt electric motor. It allowed to travel up to 100 km without recharging and accelerated the car to 60 km per hour.
Also, rumor has it that the electric Zhuzhik could reach its top speed in just 8 seconds. For those times, a very good performance, and especially for a Zaporozhets. Unfortunately, it is not reliably known how the fate of the electric Zaporozhets turned out. If you have any information, write in the comments or email us at: topgircomua@gmail.com
However, we well know about the homemade electric car ZAZ, created by an Odessa craftsman. The car even participated in the Electric Marathon electric car rally.
By the way, recently it became known about an equally interesting tuning of the ZAZ. The hunchback Zaporozhets was transformed into a travel car with a barbecue trailer.
