Buick Introduced the Updated E5 Electric Crossover
Buick has officially introduced the updated version of the E5 electric crossover in the Chinese market. The car received 47 updates concerning design, interior, and technical specifications. Externally, the model features a more restrained design, notably a new front end with smooth lines and a sporty bumper. Hidden door handles, rain sensors, and LED headlights have also been added.
The crossover’s interior has become more comfortable thanks to soft materials that now cover 64% of the surfaces. The rear seats gained adjustable recline up to 27 degrees. Technological updates include a 30-inch display, support for Apple CarPlay, and an AI-based voice assistant.
Specifications and Variants
The Buick E5 is offered with three battery options:
All versions are equipped with a single electric motor producing 241 hp, which accelerates the car to 100 km/h in 7.5-7.8 seconds. A feature of the new model is an improved engine cooling system and fast charging – up to 350 km of range can be gained in 20 minutes.
The price of the updated E5 starts from 149,900 yuan (approximately $20,850) for the base version. Currently, the crossover is available in three colors: black, white, and gray. Buick emphasizes the cabin quietness – the noise level is only 22 dB, making the E5 one of the quietest electric cars on the market.
The E5 updates show how Buick is adapting its electric model to buyer demands, focusing on comfort, technology, and practicality. The balance between range and price is especially noteworthy – even the base version offers over 500 km on a single charge for an affordable price. This could make the E5 an attractive option for urban residents looking for a comfortable electric crossover.
