Mini Electric Crossover Gets Significantly Increased Range, But Not Yet Everywhere

Update of the Mini Countryman E Electric Crossover

The Mini company has presented an updated lineup of the Countryman E electric crossovers. The main changes concern the technical components, which allowed for a significant improvement in the model’s efficiency and range.

Key updates include:

Range Improvement

Thanks to these technical improvements, the WLTP range of the Mini Countryman E has increased to 501 kilometers. This is 8.4% more than the previous version with a 64.6 kWh battery and a range of 462 kilometers.

The all-wheel-drive Countryman SE ALL4 version has also received similar updates. Its range now reaches up to 467 kilometers, which is 35 kilometers more than its predecessor’s figures.

Availability and Specifications for the US Market

The updated Countryman will begin arriving at European dealers in March, and in the US, the model is likely to appear shortly after. The American version of the Countryman SE ALL4 is equipped with all-wheel drive and two electric motors with a combined output of 308 horsepower. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph takes 5.4 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 112 mph.

According to official EPA data, the range for the US market is expected to be up to 341 kilometers. The price of the base configuration in the US starts at $45,200.

The update of the Mini Countryman E demonstrates the trend of rapid iteration in the electric vehicle segment. Manufacturers are actively implementing technological innovations, even in models less than three years old, to maintain competitiveness. Increasing the range, even slightly, is a critically important factor for reducing drivers’ “range anxiety” and expanding the usage scenarios of an electric car. The emphasis on details such as bearings is particularly interesting, indicating a comprehensive approach to improving the efficiency of every component.
