Lucid Air Grand Touring Electric Car Sets World Record: 1200 km Without Recharging

American electric vehicle manufacturer Lucid Motors has once again proven its leadership in innovation and energy efficiency. The flagship Lucid Air Grand Touring electric sedan has become the hero of a new world record for driving range without recharging, officially recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. The car covered 1205 kilometers on European roads on a single charge, which is 160 km more than the previous result in this class.

The route of the record run stretched from Swiss St. Moritz to German Munich, but the team deliberately chose not the shortest path. The journey included alpine passes, highways, and secondary roads with active traffic to test the real efficiency of the electric car in various conditions. The result was impressive: even in difficult landscapes, the Lucid Air Grand Touring drove over 1200 km without a single stop for charging.

Lucid Motors’ Chief Technical Officer Eric Bach called this a “remarkable milestone” in the company’s history. According to him, the record was made possible thanks to innovative powertrains, high-voltage architecture, and an intelligent battery management system that provide a unique combination of power, dynamics, and record range.

The Lucid Air Grand Touring for the European market is equipped with two electric motors with a combined power of 611 kW (831 hp) and a torque of 1200 Nm, allowing it to accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 270 km/h. The large 117 kWh battery pack makes this electric car one of the leaders in range among production models.

The WLTP cycle claims a range of 960 km, however, the real conditions of the record run proved that the Lucid Air is capable of covering even more – 245 km more than the official data.
