Skoda revealed the interior of the new Epiq electric crossover
Skoda has released images of the interior of its fully electric crossover Epiq and announced that the official premiere of the model will take place on May 19. The manufacturer calls this model “the first production car that fully embodies all aspects of the Modern Solid design language.” The interior features a horizontal architecture and a minimalist style. Although details are still scarce, the images show a multi-level dashboard with an upholstered lower section and rectangular ventilation vents.
Trim and technology
The driver sits behind a two-spoke steering wheel, with a hexagonal 5.3-inch digital instrument cluster in front. A separate 13-inch infotainment system is installed nearby. Beneath the large screen are slim ventilation vents and a row of “tactile shortcut keys” that resemble physical buttons. The car also includes an open storage compartment with wireless smartphone charging in the center.
Materials and space
Other features include a slim center console and an ambient lighting system that creates a “welcoming, cozy atmosphere.” Skoda also noted that the model uses eco-friendly materials, including “100% recycled PES for the seat upholstery.” The cargo area holds 475 liters of luggage, which expands to 1,344 liters when the rear seats are folded.
Three powertrains and a range of up to 430 km
Like the Cupra Raval and Volkswagen ID. Polo, the new model is based on the MEB+ platform. The base version, Epiq 35, is equipped with a 38.5 kWh battery and a front electric motor producing 114 hp (85 kW) and 267 Nm of torque. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 11 seconds, and the range is 315 km.
The mid-range Epiq 40 features the same LFP battery and range but a more powerful motor—133 hp (99 kW) with the same 267 Nm of torque. This reduces the 0-100 km/h time to 9.8 seconds.
The top-tier Epiq 55 gets a larger 55 kWh NMC battery and a more powerful 208 hp (155 kW) motor with 290 Nm of torque. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 7.4 seconds, and the top speed is 160 km/h, 10 km/h faster than the other versions. The range reaches 430 km.
Production of the model will be set up in Spain. Previously, Skoda reported that the price would start at approximately €26,000 (about $30,400), comparable to the cost of its gasoline counterpart, the Kamiq.
The new Skoda Epiq will be an important step in the brand’s electrification strategy, offering an affordable electric car with modern design and various powertrain options. The use of the MEB+ platform ensures competitive performance, while the emphasis on eco-friendly materials aligns with modern sustainability trends. It is worth noting that a price on par with the gasoline Kamiq makes the Epiq an attractive option for those looking to switch to electric power without a significant budget increase.
