Since the beginning of the year, the first four phantom patrols have started working in Ukraine. One of them was recently spotted on the roads of Kyiv. As you can see in the photo, the phantom patrol indeed looks highly inconspicuous.
To recognize it as a law enforcement vehicle, you need to take a closer look (we’re sure you didn’t immediately notice the strobe lights in the bumper, as well as the beacons and radar under the rear window). From afar, it looks like a regular gray Skoda Kodiaq crossover with civilian license plates. By the way, we wrote about how to recognize phantom police cars of hidden patrols.

Similar equipment, by the way, is installed at the front, although unfortunately, the author of the photo was unable to take a picture of the front part of the vehicle.

It is noted that the main task of phantom patrols is to record violations in both passing and opposite directions (currently only speed violations) and to fine drivers for this on the spot. It is planned that by the end of the year, there will already be 150 hidden police crews on the roads of Ukraine, and by 2024 – 300.
