- The FBI has issued a warning about attacks on Tesla cars and dealership facilities.
- The warning urges Americans to be vigilant, especially near the showrooms of this brand.
- The attacks have arisen due to vandals’ outrage over the active involvement of Executive Chairman Elon Musk in DOGE events.
In their statement titled “Individuals Attack Cars and Tesla Dealerships Nationwide Using Arson, Gunfire, and Vandalism,” the FBI warns the American public about recent incidents that have occurred in at least nine states.

“These acts include arson, gunfire, and vandalism, including graffiti expressing dissatisfaction with those offenders consider to be racists, fascists, or political opponents,” the warning states. “These criminal acts, at first glance, appeared to be coordinated by individual perpetrators, and all known instances occurred at night.”
The agency does not support Tesla chief Elon Musk’s claims that attackers are funded by leftist organizations and asserts that vandals act alone, not in coordinated groups. They urge citizens to “be vigilant” and to be on the lookout for suspicious activity in areas where Tesla dealerships or facilities, such as warehouses, charging stations, and plants, are located. The statement requests anyone with information about threats against Tesla to contact the local FBI branch.
Over the past two months, we have gotten used to seeing and hearing media reports about people spraying graffiti on Tesla cars, shooting at them, and setting them on fire. Some of the manufacturer’s dealership centers have also suffered similar impacts.
The attacks are not directly linked to Tesla as a company but are a consequence of anger at the actions of the company’s head, Elon Musk, in the Trump administration. As head of the recently created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk was responsible for dismissing thousands of federal employees.
Last week, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced charges against three people for “violent destruction of Tesla property” using Molotov cocktails. Around the same time, Musk reported that Tesla is activating cameras on all its parked cars in an attempt to identify vandals.
