Ferrari with a Murky History Listed for Sale for $250

Cars, like people, have their own history. And the further success, or the opposite, may depend on how ‘notorious’ that history is. In this case, we’re talking about a Ferrari 599, which has been listed for sale at scrap metal price. In fact, even cheaper.

What’s the reason for the $250 price?

A couple of years ago, this Ferrari was involved in an accident, seemingly even a fatal one (with a pedestrian), but the driver fled the accident scene, and it is still unknown who it was and where he is now. After the traffic incident, the sports car was taken to a penalty parking lot, where it remains to this day.

The car has never been registered (although it has number plates) and, logically, not insured. Considering the fact that all this happened in China, where laws are quite strict, it’s unclear how the owner managed to bypass the law and drive without documents but with state number plates.

Well, anyway – it is even more interesting that the police put the car up for auction and set the starting price at $250, plus an additional $1400 will have to be paid for the time on the penalty lot.

In total – less than 2 thousand dollars. For a Ferrari. One downside – it cannot be registered or taken out of the country.
