Fiat prepares to introduce new Fastback and GigaPanda models

New Fiat models: Fastback and GigaPanda

Fiat is preparing to launch two new models, which will debut within the next year. Both will be larger than the company’s current lineup and built on an affordable platform. The first one, known so far as the Fastback, will be introduced before the end of 2025.

According to reports, the new Fastback will combine features of the old Tipo, the Brazilian Fastback crossover, and the Turkish Egea. While exact engine details are still unknown, the model is expected to offer both traditional gasoline units and hybrid options, including a fully electric version.

GigaPanda – a larger SUV

The second newcomer, the GigaPanda, will be significantly larger than the Fastback and positioned as the “big brother” of the Citroen C3 Aircross. It will be available in five- and seven-seat configurations. The concept of this model, presented in early 2024, impressed the public with its retro design featuring bright pixelated LEDs.

“I can’t say the production version will look exactly the same, but all the key elements are already in place,” noted François Leboine, Fiat’s design chief.

The GigaPanda, like the Fastback, will offer various powertrain options: from 44 kWh and 54 kWh batteries to hybrid systems based on a 1.2-liter engine. Traditional gasoline and ethanol versions are also possible for markets such as Brazil.

Both newcomers demonstrate Fiat’s focus on versatility and adaptation to different markets. The GigaPanda, in particular, has sparked interest—its size and the choice between different engine types could make it popular among family buyers. The conceptual design, though slightly modified for mass production, promises to make the model stand out among competitors.
