Toyota’s Flagship Electric Vehicle to Receive Technologies from Huawei and Xiaomi

Toyota Reveals Plans for the Chinese Market

At the Toyota Technology Day 2025 event in China, the company presented its development strategies focused on electrification and artificial intelligence. A joint venture with GAC is developing two new platforms for electric vehicles that will support various types of powertrains, including all-electric and hybrid variants. The first model on the larger platform will be the bZ7, whose launch is planned for early 2026.

The new model will receive the integrated DriveONE drive system, as well as an infotainment system from Huawei. Furthermore, Toyota is actively working on improving its voice assistant, which, according to company representatives, will eventually turn into a truly “caring assistant.”

Technologies of the Future

The company’s plans include the development of a “digital chassis” with a function for real-time adaptation to road conditions. Toyota is also expanding cooperation with Chinese tech giants, such as Huawei and Xiaomi, to implement innovative solutions in its cars.

However, it remains unclear whether these technologies will be available on the global market or will remain an exclusive for China. The company is betting on local partnerships, which could be the key to success in one of the world’s largest automotive markets. Given the rapid development of the electric vehicle industry in China, such steps seem logical, but their effectiveness will only become clear with time.
