Ford has announced a new recall affecting nearly 230,000 of its latest Bronco SUVs and compact Bronco Sport crossovers. This problem adds to a series of other challenges the manufacturer has faced in 2025.

The main malfunction is related to the digital instrument panels of these vehicles. In certain cases, the screen may completely turn off during engine startup, leaving the driver without key information such as speed, fuel levels, or warning signals.

Ford confirmed that the problem is quite serious, as it can lead to the complete disappearance of all information on the display until the system reboots on its own.

Technical Details of the Malfunction

The source of the problem is a software glitch that occurs when the system transitions into sleep mode. Any interruption of this process can trigger a memory error, causing the screen not to activate during the next vehicle startup.

The recall will affect 101,002 Bronco SUVs and 128,607 Bronco Sport crossovers manufactured from late spring 2024 through early November 2025. This means a significant number of new vehicles may be operating with non-functional displays.

While no accidents or injuries related to this malfunction have been reported so far, the absence of crucial indicators significantly increases risks for road safety.

Ford representatives noted that resolving the issue does not require mechanical intervention or equipment replacement; a simple software update will fix the malfunction.

However, this update cannot be installed remotely, so all owners of affected vehicles will have to visit official brand dealers. Notifications to owners will begin to be sent out starting in early December.
