Ford Everest Bi-Turbo Sport Offers What Americans Can’t Get in the Ranger Version

Limited Edition Ford Everest for the Australian Market

Unavailability for the American Market

Ford does not offer the Everest model in the US market, which is a double disappointment. This model is essentially an SUV based on the Ranger, but with a diesel engine – two features unavailable to American buyers. As it turned out during test drives, the Everest has many qualities that could interest buyers in the US.

Special Version for Australia

One of the key markets for the Everest is Australia, where a new limited-edition sport version will be released for the 2026 model year. Unfortunately, it is not the Raptor version that many were expecting.

The new model is called the Everest Sport Bi-Turbo. It returns the four-cylinder engine to the lineup, albeit in limited numbers, after Ford switched the SUV exclusively to a V6. This version combines the Sport trim with a two-liter four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine and all-wheel drive. Production will be limited to 700 units, with assembly scheduled for September and October before deliveries to customers begin.

Trim and Standard Equipment

Ford Australia emphasizes that due to the standard inclusion of the Touring Pack and Prestige Paint, the Everest Sport Bi-Turbo has better equipment compared to the existing Everest Sport V6 version. Key elements of the sport package include black exterior accents and distinctive black alloy wheels.

Thanks to the Touring Pack, the model comes standard with a 360-degree camera, a tow bar and trailer hitch system, an integrated trailer brake controller, and the Pro Trailer Backup Assist function. Available body colors are: Blue Lightning, Alabaster White, Shadow Black, Meteor Grey, and Aluminum.

Technical Specifications and Alternatives

The two-liter twin-turbo diesel engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. For those seeking more power, a Sport version with a three-liter turbo-diesel V6 is available, producing 247 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque.

Pricing Policy and Target Audience

Local prices for the Everest Sport Bi-Turbo start from 75,000 Australian dollars. This model could be ideal for those who want the black accents of the Everest Sport and wish to take advantage of the better fuel economy of the four-cylinder engine. This combination makes it a good option for both city dwellers and those planning long cross-country trips.

The appearance of the limited edition Everest Sport Bi-Turbo demonstrates an interesting trend in the Australian market, where buyers still value smaller diesel engines for their economy. The limited production run may create additional demand among collectors and brand enthusiasts. Interestingly, Ford continues to experiment with different powertrains for different markets, highlighting the importance of regional specifics in the global automotive industry.
