In Super Duty pickups, a missing spring that secures the brake booster pushrod has been discovered. This can lead to a complete brake failure. The manufacturer links the problem to an employee error during training.
Ford is aware of two vehicles exhibiting the problem and an “investigation determined that the retain spring operation for both vehicles was performed by an operator who was new to the role and in training.”
The Mustang Mach-E has been found to have a defect in the parking mechanism, which could cause the vehicle to start moving on its own. The problem arose due to a tool defect during manufacturing.
The series of Ford recalls indicates systemic problems with quality control in manufacturing.
