Ford Announces New Recalls Due to Serious Safety Issues
The Ford company continues to battle quality issues, announcing four new recalls affecting over 335 thousand vehicles. The most serious of these is associated with the risk of sudden loss of braking function in F-Series Super Duty pickup trucks. The recalls have also affected the Aviator, Bronco, Explorer, and Mustang Mach-E models.
This year, Ford has already carried out 76 recalls, significantly exceeding the figures of other automakers. The new wave of problems includes:
Details of the Main Issues
In Super Duty pickups, a missing spring that locks the brake booster rod has been discovered. This can lead to a complete brake failure. The manufacturer links the problem to an employee error during training.
Ford is aware of two vehicles exhibiting the problem and an “investigation determined that the retain spring operation for both vehicles was performed by an operator who was new to the role and in training.”
The Mustang Mach-E has been found to have a defect in the parking mechanism, which could cause the vehicle to start moving on its own. The problem arose due to a tool defect during manufacturing.
The series of Ford recalls indicates systemic problems with quality control in production. The scale of the problems is particularly striking – from critical brake system malfunctions to smaller, but potentially dangerous defects. The company is actively working to resolve the issues, but constant recalls could undermine consumer trust in the brand. Drivers are recommended to immediately contact dealers if any signs of the mentioned malfunctions are detected.
