Issue with fuel lines in Ford Super Duty
Ford has announced a recall of several Super Duty models produced on March 23, 2025. The reason is potential cracks in the fuel lines, which could lead to fuel leaks and fires. It is especially dangerous when fuel comes into contact with a hot engine. The manufacturer has offered free fuel line replacements at dealerships.
As reported, the issue arose due to a change in tooling at a supplier, resulting in misaligned fuel hoses. Ford is already aware of five vehicles requiring repairs, three of which have already been delivered to dealers. Drivers may notice the problem by the smell of fuel or a “Check Engine” warning.
Fortunately for Ford, none of the five examples recalled appear to be in customer hands.
How is the company responding to the situation?
Ford learned about the issue in early March, but some engines still made it onto the assembly line without inspection. On March 8, 18 engines were installed in vehicles, and it was later discovered that eight of them had already been shipped to dealers or remained at repair facilities. Currently, only five vehicles are at risk.
This situation highlights the importance of quality at all stages of production, especially when it comes to safety. Although the number of affected vehicles is small, Ford is taking measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. The company also emphasizes that customers can expect a quick resolution through official service centers.
