Opportunity to Receive a Tax Benefit
Buyers of new Ford vehicles in the United States have a chance to receive significant financial benefits thanks to a tax credit introduced in 2025. This initiative allows individuals to deduct up to $10,000 annually from their taxes for interest paid on a loan for a new car that meets the requirements.
Program Conditions and Limitations
However, there are significant limitations. The benefit applies only to vehicles manufactured in the United States, which is part of the policy to support American production. This means that popular Ford models such as the Maverick, Bronco Sport, and Mustang Mach-E, which are assembled in Mexico, do not meet the criteria.
The program also has a number of other conditions:
Which Ford and Lincoln Models Meet the Requirements
According to information on Ford’s website, the following US-manufactured models are included in the program:
- Mustang, Bronco, Escape, Expedition, Explorer
- F-150, Ranger, Super Duty, Transit, E-Transit, Econoline
From the Lincoln brand, the following models are eligible for the benefit:
- Aviator, Corsair, Navigator

Real Savings for Buyers
The program is valid until the end of 2028, but the amount of actual savings for most buyers will be significantly less than the maximum $10,000. To fully utilize this amount, one needs to have a very large loan. According to estimates, only about 1% of new auto loans generate annual interest of $10,000 or more. To reach this level, one needs to borrow approximately $112,000.
Therefore, the greatest benefit from this program will be received by buyers of the most expensive models in the Ford lineup.
This makes the benefit most attractive to those financing the purchase of top trim levels. For example, models such as the F-150 Raptor (starting at $79,005) or Bronco Raptor (starting at $79,995) are approaching the necessary threshold. But the best chances to fully utilize the deduction are for buyers of the most expensive Expedition versions, such as the Tremor ($81,400) or King Ranch ($84,060), and especially the F-450 King Ranch model, whose starting price is $94,890.

Thus, although the program offers an attractive opportunity for savings, it is designed for a rather narrow circle of buyers—those purchasing the most expensive American SUVs and pickups with the help of a loan. For the average buyer choosing more affordable models, the amount of the tax deduction will be much more modest. This underscores that political initiatives aimed at stimulating the domestic market often have the greatest impact on the premium segment, where transaction amounts and, accordingly, the potential tax benefit are the highest. The condition of “made in the USA” can also influence consumer choice, shifting it towards certain factories and models, regardless of personal preferences or actual needs for the car.
