At the intersection, the driver of the Ford Everest drove around the stationary Jaguar F-Type after the turn. The collision was captured by a dashcam, showing the fault of the large SUV driver. The Jaguar sports car suffered significant damage, while the unruly Ford lost a wheel. It seems the car gods astonished us again with an unusual collision, this time between and a Jaguar F-Type in Brisbane, Australia. If you ever wondered what happens when a large SUV collides with a low sports car, here’s your answer.
The collision occurred earlier this month. Dashcam video from Jaguar, essentially the first-person view of a crash test, shows the F-Type was stationary when struck. Unfortunately, it wasn’t Jaguar’s fault, but given the damage, you would believe so. It all started when the white car stopped at the intersection to let Ford Everest pass. Jaguar was behind Volkswagen.
As Everest turned right, it unexpectedly picked up speed. With wheels still turning, the SUV hit the stationary F-Type, then collided with a Chery Tiggo 4 Pro SUV behind. According to a report from our colleagues, another vehicle was approaching from the opposite direction, likely prompting the Ford driver to get confused and hit the acceleration pedal. The dashcam video released by the page shows just how extensive the damage was. Jaguar will need a new bumper, headlight, hood, front wing, driver’s door, and rear wing, leading to a hefty repair bill.
And these are just visible damages. One thing we can say for sure – repairs are very expensive now, so we make a wild guess and declare this a total loss. As for the Everest, its right wheel was ripped off in the crash, leaving the front bumper and right wing in bad shape. The Chery Tiggo 4 Pro driver was mostly lucky, sustaining only a few scratches on the front nose of their SUV. Despite the severity of the crash, no injuries were reported.
However, the Jaguar driver undoubtedly experienced a moment of panic watching the Ford Everest SUV awkwardly scramble over the long hood of the F-Type.
