Ford created a unique Capri in honor of Eric Cantona
Eric Cantona, a football legend and controversial figure, received an unusual gift from Ford—a unique electric version of the Capri. The car includes numerous references to the former player’s career and personality, including his famous “kung-fu kick.”
A standout feature in the interior is the headrests with silhouettes of Cantona mid-kick. The center console is adorned with an illuminated inscription:
“When the goat follows its hero into his car, it’s because the ruler is returning. The legend has returned”
Design and Features
The car’s exterior is finished in bright orange with black racing stripes—a nod to the Capri of the 1970s. The number 7 on the side symbolizes Cantona’s jersey number. Other features include 21-inch wheels, a 3D crown emblem on the pillars, and the footballer’s autograph on the front fenders.
The interior is upholstered in premium Feeltek Luxury Grain materials with orange accents. Technically, however, this is a standard Capri with no changes under the hood.
The project was executed by a special Ford design team that worked directly with Cantona. The presentation took place at the company’s headquarters with the footballer in attendance. This car is not just a vehicle but a true artifact embodying the spirit of one of the most iconic figures in sports.
