The Kyiv City Council has finally approved the list of streets where a speed limit of 80 km/h has been established. In general, this was planned to be done in the spring, but what was promised had to be waited for half a year.
In addition, the list of streets with the increased limit has been slightly changed and now includes 17 sections:
— Victory Avenue (from the Vozdukhoflotsky Overpass to Chernobylska Street);
— Big Ring Road (from Gorodskaya Street to the intersection with Gazoprovodnaya Street and from Gazoprovodnaya Street to Minsk Avenue);
— Gorodskaya Street (from Stetsenko Street to Hostomel Highway provided that major road repairs are carried out);
— Ring Road (from Victory Avenue to Trublaini Street);
— Highway R-69 (from Ozerna Street to the city limits of Kyiv);
— S. Bandera Avenue (from Obolonsky Avenue to Moscow Bridge);
— Vatutin Avenue (from Moscow Bridge to Kerch Square);
— Naberezhno-Rybalska Street (from Gavan Bridge to Elektrikov Street);
— Naddnipryanske Highway;
— Naberezhne Highway (from Postal Square to Naddnipryanske Highway),
— Stolychne Highway (up to Akademika Zabolotnoho Street);
— Saperno-Slobodska Street (from M. Hrinchenko Street to the Southern Bridge);
— Bazhan Avenue (from the Southern Bridge transition to Kharkiv Square);
— Brovarske Avenue (from Osvoboditeliv Avenue to Bratislavska Street and from Kyoto Street to the end of the settlement “Kyiv” provided that major road repairs are carried out);
— Perov Boulevard (from Voskresenska Street to A. Navoi Street);
— E. Teligi Street (from Olzhycha Street to Kyrylivska Street);
— Sobornosti Avenue (conditioned upon the installation of a traffic separation barrier).
However, the new speed regime won’t last long, as it is effective from April 1 to November 1. During the autumn-winter period, the limit will again be reduced to 50 km/h.
