Genesis Transformed Its Flagship G90 Sedan into a Powerful Wagon

G90 Wingback Concept Debut

Genesis drew attention this week with its mid-engine Magma GT concept, which was unveiled alongside the production 2027 GV60 Magma electric car. Both models were the centerpieces of a special event at the French Circuit Paul Ricard racetrack, but they were not the only ones on the track. They were joined by something quite unexpected — the G90 Wingback concept.

Sports Wagon Features

This is a sports wagon based on the flagship G90 sedan, comparable to non-existent counterparts such as the BMW 7-Series Touring, Mercedes-Benz S-Class Estate, or Audi A8 Avant. The new body version is interesting in itself, but Genesis added performance and chassis enhancements from the Magma division, making it even more attractive.

Design and Technical Improvements

The concept reimagines the brand’s flagship sedan as a long-wheelbase grand tourer. Like most wagons, it borrows the front end from the sedan and combines it with a redesigned rear end. The latter includes a “ducktail” spoiler above the full-width LED taillights, as well as a roof spoiler.

The G90 Wingback is equipped with a sporty body kit from Magma, which includes aggressive air intakes on the bumpers, a rear diffuser, and dual exhaust pipes. The car also appears to have a lowered suspension and large-diameter wheels with high-performance tires.

Continuation of Genesis Initiatives

This model is a continuation of the impressive G90 Coupe and Convertible concepts unveiled in April 2025, indicating Genesis’s serious intentions to expand its flagship model lineup.

This is a developing story and will be updated…

The appearance of the G90 Wingback highlights the growing trend of creating wagons based on premium sedans, which could attract fans of practicality and sporty design. The use of Magma technologies demonstrates that the brand is trying to combine elegance with high performance, which could become a key advantage in the competitive market.
