The huge nostrils of BMW of the latest generations have become a subject of debate among both brand fans and haters. And while the latter is understandable (they have Mercedes or Audi), in the case of brand-loyal customers, not all of them appreciated such a design move.

And since debates have not ceased, the British publication Top Gear decided to interview BMW’s design director to find out “what’s the deal”.
It turned out that Domagoj Dukec (head of the design department) stated that he was prepared for a barrage of criticism and considers such a reaction normal. Creating something special is a mandatory condition to stand out in business, believes Dukec.

“We do not aim to please everyone in the world. It is impossible to create a design that everyone likes. But you must please your customers”, Dukec said in an interview. According to Domagoj, despite the criticism, the enormous grille on the BMW 4-Series (and not only) is a success for the company. He knows that surveys show that only 20% of consumers like this decision, but BMW is targeting this very audience.
