Hyundai is enhancing its built-in navigation system by integrating the Google Places feature. This will allow drivers to receive detailed information on over 250 million places worldwide, including photos, descriptions, and operating hours. The update is already available for models such as the Kona, Santa Fe, Tucson, Ioniq 5 N, and others via a software update.
Although many drivers today prefer apps like Google Maps or Waze via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Hyundai aims to make its own system more useful. Google Places provides up-to-date data that is refreshed daily, making searching for places significantly more convenient without the need to connect a smartphone.

In 2026, Hyundai plans to completely overhaul its multimedia system by switching to the Android Automotive platform. This will enable the creation of a more intuitive interface with advanced features. The first model to receive the new system will be the Hyundai Inster, which will position itself above the Bayon in the European market.
The partnership with Google opens up new opportunities for Hyundai, especially in the context of electrification and the development of smart features in cars.
