Hennessey created a monster: Goliath 700 based on GMC Sierra AT4
While some automakers chase efficiency, Hennessey takes the opposite path. Known for its incredible muscle cars and the Venom F5 hypercar, this tuning firm also has extensive experience in creating ultra-powerful off-road vehicles. Their latest development — the Goliath 700 package for the GMC Sierra AT4 pickup — is another confirmation of that.
Engine swap: from diesel to supercharger
The standard GMC Sierra AT4 is equipped with a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-six engine. However, for the Texas craftsmen, this is not enough. The basis for the Goliath 700 was a pickup with a 6.2-liter gasoline V8, which received a powerful supercharger.
The upgraded engine produces 700 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 828 Nm of torque at 4200 rpm. This allows the monster to accelerate to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds.
In addition to installing an air-to-water intercooler and a stainless steel exhaust system with black tips, Hennessey upgraded the pickup to conquer any terrain.
Suspension and chassis
Work begins up front: improved DBS components and new upper control arms are installed. The excellent Multimatic DSSV shocks remain, but new 20-inch wheels wrapped in 35-inch off-road tires have been added.
Exterior: aggressive and recognizable
The Goliath 700 cannot be mistaken for a regular Sierra AT4 thanks to numerous exterior updates. These include:
GMC did not create a direct competitor for the Ram 1500 TRX or Ford F-150 Raptor R, but this pickup is probably the closest to them. Interior updates complete the package: new all-weather floor mats, serial number plates, and embroidered headrests. Like other Hennessey packages, the Goliath 700 comes with a limited warranty of three years or 36,000 miles.
This project shows that even in times of widespread electrification and fuel economy battles, there are enthusiasts ready to create true monsters. The Goliath 700 is not just a tuning package, but a statement that power and off-road capability can coexist in one vehicle without compromising each other. For fans of gasoline V8s and extreme off-roading, this is a real find, as it offers what no American automaker officially produces.
