Honda Presents Its First WN7 Electric Motorcycle (Photo)

At the EICMA 2025 exhibition, Honda finally did what everyone was waiting for — it showed its first full-size electric motorcycle. The new model is named Honda WN7 and essentially opens a new page in the brand’s electrification strategy, which until now was limited only to electric scooters. Now we are talking about a full-fledged “naked” bike, capable of competing with gasoline models in the 400–600 cm³ class.

Under the aluminum skin — 50 kW (67 hp) and 100 Nm of torque. The weight is 217 kg, which means this is not a light urban transport, but a real motorcycle with serious road behavior. The electric motor has liquid cooling, works with a belt drive and responds instantly to the throttle, but does it smoothly — thanks to the inverter integrated into the motor itself.

Instead of a classic frame, a rigid aluminum battery case is used here, to which the steering column and the rear suspension swingarm are attached. Such a frameless architecture made it possible to reduce weight, improve handling and achieve an almost ideal weight distribution. This solution, characteristic of premium electric bikes, now appears for the first time in a serial Honda product.

The 9.3 kWh battery provides a range of up to 140 km in the combined WMTC cycle. Fast charging via the CCS2 protocol allows replenishing the charge from 20 to 80% in about 30 minutes, and there is also a Type 2 connector. The regenerative braking system has several intensity levels, and a special maneuvering mode is provided for slow movement — useful during parking or when the bike needs to be pushed manually.

The WN7 is recognizable immediately from the outside — the horizontal LED headlight panel creates its own “signature” and, according to the company, will become the visual basis for the entire Honda electric lineup. The naked-style design showcases clean lines and exposed elements, and the combination of the black body with golden mechanical details adds a sense of technological sophistication to the motorcycle.

Production is planned to be launched in Japan, and sales will start in countries where electric transport is developing the fastest. Honda is silent about the price for now, but emphasizes: the WN7 is only the first step in a major electric program. The company describes its philosophy simply — “to be the wind”: minimum noise, maximum sensation. And it seems that this is exactly what the future of speed looks like now.
