Unique Pagani Zonda Riviera Could Set a Price Record
Model’s Historical Significance
Pagani Zonda has become one of the most valuable exotic cars of the 21st century. This year, the unique Riviera model could be sold for a record $10.5 million. Such a price would mean an increase of almost five million compared to the previous sale price, demonstrating that the Zonda is appreciating at a rate comparable to the McLaren F1.
Conversion Features
The Riviera model was returned to the Pagani factory in 2017, where it was converted into a unique 760 series car. Despite its age, the car has only 908 km on the odometer, which explains the auction house RM Sotheby’s estimate of $9.5-10.5 million.
Exterior and Technical Specifications
The car’s exterior has unique features: metallic white paint with royal blue accents on the hood, roof, doors, and rear. The brake calipers and wheels also feature blue elements. During the modernization, extended carbon fiber front wings were installed, a roof scoop inspired by the Zonda Cinque, as well as numerous exposed carbon elements.
The 7.3-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine was upgraded, increasing power to 750 hp, which is transmitted to the rear wheels via a sequential gearbox with paddle shifters.
Second Sales Attempt
This is not the first time the Riviera has been put up for auction. In 2019, the car was sold for $5.5 million in Saudi Arabia. Since then, it has remained in the Middle East, and this December it will be offered for sale again, this time in Abu Dhabi.
The price increase for this model reflects a general trend in the collector car market, where rare specimens can significantly increase in value over a short period. The limited series factor and individual manufacturer refinements make such cars particularly attractive to investors and collectors. A potential record sale of this Zonda could affect the valuation of other brand models on the secondary market.
