J.D. Power published the latest car reliability rating

The American organization has released a new list of car reliability. As stated in the report, as of 2019, new car models have not become more ‘robust’ – the reliability of new models has remained at last year’s level.

As for the leading brands, the top five manufacturers may surprise you. This time, there was not a single Japanese brand in it. In terms of problems per 100 cars (PP index), the best was the premium brand Hyundai – Genesis, with a score of 63 PP.

TOP-5 most reliable cars by brand

  • Genesis (63 PP)
  • Kia (70)
  • Hyundai (71)
  • Ford (83)
  • Lincoln (84)

Want to know which brands’ new cars break down most often? This list is also somewhat surprising.

The most unreliable new cars

  • Jaguar (130)
  • Land Rover (123)
  • Mitsubishi (121)
  • Alfa Romeo (118)
  • Volvo (114)

The average ‘breakdown’ indicator, according to the latest data from American J.D.

Power, is 93. By the way, this is 14% better than the figures from 10 years ago. So, contrary to myths, the quality of cars is still improving, not the other way around.
