Jaguar has announced that the production version of the Type 00 electric concept will become the most premium and exclusive model in the brand’s history. Very few cars will be built – so that every owner feels like part of a true club of the select few.
Head of Jaguar USA Brandon Baldassari explained that the brand is deliberately choosing limited production to increase the uniqueness of each car. Because of this, prices will approximately double: if previously a new Jaguar could be purchased from $65,000, the starting price will now be around $130,000. This decision has already impacted dealers, some of whom have decided not to work with the new model, fearing low demand.
It is known that the production Type 00 will retain the recognizable features of the concept but will receive classic doors and a more traditional interior. Detailed technical specifications of the powertrain have not been disclosed yet.
