How and Where Tanks and Armored Personnel Carriers Die in Kharkiv

The specialization of the “Kharkiv Armored Vehicle Repair Plant” is the overhaul and modernization of T-64 tanks, T-80, T-72, and tank engines 5TDF and GTD-1250. The plant can also repair tank sights, laser rangefinders, and guided weapon systems. By the time of the USSR’s collapse, the plant was overhauling about 60 tanks and 55 engines per month. well, there is an area of the plant where tanks used to be repaired (or melted down into children’s beds?!), but now people come here to take something as a souvenir, sit with a bottle of “vodka” in an intimate setting, and see with their own eyes tanks—both intact and not so much—from T-34 to T-72.
