How to Recognize Phantom Police Cars for Undercover Patrolling (photo) en

A phantom police patrol was spotted in a Kiev parking lot. From the outside, it looks almost no different from a regular Skoda Kodiaq and is capable of recording the speed of surrounding vehicles while in motion.

The so-called phantom patrols were launched by the National Police in 2021. Undercover officers monitor speed limits and search for offenders, as well as being able to locate car duplicates.

For this purpose, it was decided to purchase Skoda Kodiaq crossovers (apparently of Transcarpathian assembly). Indeed, they have no roof beacons and are painted in regular colors.

However, if you take a closer look, it is possible to recognize a phantom patrol. The author of the photo pointed out the differences: small beacons in the rear bumper and a radar behind the rear window. Although it is quite difficult to see them at speed.
