In Ukraine, customs clearance for cars with Euro plates has finally begun, and the State Fiscal Service has already reported on the first car that received Ukrainian registration. The new customs clearance law establishes a simple and clear formula for calculating excises, and also offers a 50% discount in the first three months.
Excise Formula for Cars with Euro Plates
So, the Euro plates law prescribes calculating excise according to the formula:
Excise = BS x Ed x Yf
BS – base rate.
Base Rate for Euro Plates 2018
For engines with a volume:
- up to 3.5 liters – 50 euros for gasoline engines (75 euros – for diesel engines)
- over 3.5 liters – 100 and 150 euros, respectively.
Ed – engine coefficient, meaning its volume in liters. Yf – age coefficient in years.
The maximum value is 15, even if it’s a 20-year-old car.
