This 1969 Toyota Corolla from the front view strongly resembles a Volga. Although, its interior is much more interesting, as it is now a hurricane-like sports car.
The fact is, underneath the 50-year-old body lies the technology of a Lexus IS-F. The charged Lexus sedan got into a car accident and it was decided not to restore it, but to send it to the tuning studio Millen Adventures for an interesting project.
The Corolla body was placed on a shortened Lexus IS-F chassis, though it had to be redesigned and widened for this situation.
In effect, only the doors of all the body panels remained original.
The interior is entirely from the Lexus – they took both the front panel, instruments, and seats. Except for the fact that now the Toyota logo graces the steering wheel. By the way, the climate control, touchscreen, and electric seats work correctly.
Somehow they squeezed in a five-liter 416-horsepower V8 from a Lexus under the hood.
The coupe weighs one and a half tons, meaning it is almost 200 kg lighter than the standard IS-F. Therefore, the car is both lighter and more maneuverable. Moreover, an adjustable suspension is installed. Only the brakes from the IS-F did not fit, so smaller diameter discs from the Lexus IS250 had to be installed.
