The unusual car called Karakat was created for hunting and fishing. Since the area around is heavily marshy, the emphasis was placed on off-road capabilities.

The car features axles and a transfer case from a Niva, and a 1.2-liter engine and gearbox from an Opel. The maximum speed is 40 km/h, but soon a more powerful 1.5-liter engine will be installed in the Karakat.

To reduce weight, the tractor tires were shaved with a knife – a layer of rubber was removed. By the way, the car needed a power steering – it was taken from a Volga.

The S-3D body was used simply because it was on hand – rusting in the yard. A small bed appeared at the back. The project is not yet finished and the car continues to be improved.

Karakat shines off-road, but it does not drive on public roads. In extreme cases, it is towed by a UAZ Patriot. Firstly, the car consumes 40-50 l/100 km, and secondly, this marvel cannot be registered.
