The past year was not the most successful for the Ukrainian car market. According to the association Ukrautoprom, sales of new cars decreased by 0.6%.
In total, 81.8 thousand new cars were sold in 2018, which is 453 units fewer than the previous year. In December, the market declined by 23% – just over 7 thousand cars were sold. Among the reasons cited are the growing popularity of used cars and delays in implementing reduced excise taxes (they have also been lowered for new cars).
The leader for 2018 was Toyota with 10,082 cars. Renault occupies second place (8722 units), and Volkswagen is third (6183).
