The first official details about the upcoming Toyota Land Cruiser 300 have appeared. The new Cruiser was discussed with the press by Toyota Australia Vice President Sean Hanley.
According to him, the SUV will only be shown at the end of 2021, and its sales will start at the beginning of 2022. The new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 will undergo significant changes and will no longer feature a V8. In pursuit of reducing fuel consumption and harmful emissions, the decision was made to equip the Cruiser with a V6 turbocharged engine.
The gasoline 3.5-liter six-cylinder will develop about 450 hp, while the 3.4-liter turbo diesel will offer 420 hp. Moreover, a representative from Toyota Australia announced that a hybrid Toyota Land Cruiser 300 will also be available. It is known that the 354 hp powertrain will be shared with the Lexus LS500h. Sean Hanley stated that the vehicle will retain good off-road capabilities. However, he did not comment on the Cruiser’s structure, but there is circulating information that the SUV will no longer have a frame-based design.
