In a McDonald’s commercial for Superbowl 2022, an American rapper arrived at the McDrive in a Sherp all-terrain vehicle. By the way, as early as 2020, Kanye West switched to the Ukrainian all-terrain vehicle Sherp – an amphibious vehicle that rides over rocks, passes through swamps, and climbs mountains.

It should be noted that many global brands prepare commercials for the American football finals, spending millions of dollars. Among them are spectacular videos from car companies.

As for the Sherp in the McDonald’s commercial, the plot shows a situation that probably every one of us has experienced at least once. Specifically, when ordering fast food, people “hesitate” and start ordering with the characteristic phrase “uhh, I’ll have…”
By the way, Ukrainian media calls the Sherp “Ukrainian all-terrain vehicle”. Russian media — “Russian”. Why is that? The fact is, the father of Sherp is considered to be Russian inventor Alexey Garagashyan. His prototype was seen at an exhibition by companions Vladimir Shkolnik from Ukraine and Russian entrepreneur Sergey Samokhvalov.

Currently, Sherp has two factories — one in Russia and one in Ukraine. The Russian factory produces only for the domestic market. Selling it in Ukraine is not allowed, as well as in the USA, which is the company’s main market. However, the company’s central office has always been in Kyiv. The shareholders have Ukrainian passports and live in Kyiv. The R&D department, responsible for research and development, has always been in Kyiv.

According to BBC data, Vladimir Shkolnik is currently the sole owner of the company.
