In the United States, a 1998 Toyota Supra sports car was sold at auction for a record $242,000. This is the highest result in the model’s entire trading history. The cost of the coupe has practically equaled the price of a new Lamborghini Urus. This is reported by “Focus”.

The organizers’ expectations were significantly more modest. According to preliminary estimates, the car was intended to be sold for $115,000–130,000, but the final bid exceeded predictions by almost double.

The high price is explained by the car’s exceptional condition. Over 28 years, the sports car’s mileage was only 9,785 km. The car has been preserved without signs of wear, has not undergone any modifications, and remains completely in its factory configuration.

This is a rarity for the Supra A80, as most such coupes have been tuned over the years. It is the authentic condition that made this specimen particularly valuable to collectors.

The car’s equipment includes a leather interior, climate control, ABS, an audio system with a CD player, a spoiler, and a removable hardtop. According to the auction data, the roof has never been removed since the car was sold.

Under the hood is a 3.0-liter 2JZ turbocharged engine with 320 horsepower. Paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, the coupe accelerates to 100 km/h in 5 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
