Model Lineup Updates
The 2026 models are gradually arriving at dealerships, and Kia has become the next manufacturer to introduce updates for its compact SUV, the Sorento. Since the model underwent a full redesign back in 2024, the changes for 2026 are relatively minor but include a number of useful additions.
The base Sorento LX trim now costs $32,190, which is $200 more than the previous price. However, the destination fee also increased from $1,415 to $1,445, so the total price increase for the buyer is $230.
Changes in Trims
This price increase is quite moderate, especially considering that the vehicle received additional standard equipment. In this case, drivers got a leather-wrapped steering wheel with a hands-on detection function, which is now standard equipment.

While replacing the polyurethane steering wheel with a leather one is a positive change, the Sorento S trim at $35,090 lost navigation and a Wi-Fi hotspot. This is disappointing, as the price of this version increased by $500, meaning customers are paying more but getting less.
The Sorento EX trim at $38,290 received a new Premium package. It costs $2,000 and is offered exclusively for front-wheel-drive versions. Although the package is not cheap, it adds captain’s chairs in the second row, a panoramic glass sunroof, and a Bose audio system.
In terms of appearance, the X-Line and X-Pro versions now have glossy black exterior elements. They are complemented by a glossy black grille and corresponding air intake surrounds. Furthermore, the X-Line EX received a Bose audio system.
The Sorento SX trim became more luxurious with the addition of a heated steering wheel, a Bose audio system, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink. The model also got sunshades for rear passengers, but the entry price increased by $400 to $42,090.
Engines and Transmissions
The engine options remained unchanged: customers can choose between naturally aspirated and turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engines. The first produces 191 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque, while the second offers 281 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque. Both units are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which can be combined with an optional all-wheel-drive system. The final change for 2026 is that all-wheel-drive versions now come with a standard new Terrain Mode.
