Kia believes that electric vehicles should remain exciting, and its GT models prove it

Kia has launched GT versions of the EV3, EV4, and EV5 at the Brussels Motor Show.

The sporty EVs have dual-motor AWD powertrains and GT-specific chassis setup.

Production starts at the second quarter of 2026, joining the EV6 GT and EV9 GT.

Presentation of new sports models

At the Brussels Motor Show, Kia showcased its new high-performance versions of the EV3, EV4, and EV5 electric models, which have received the GT designation. These cars occupy the top positions in their lineups, having received a more powerful dual-motor powertrain, a special GT driving mode, improved chassis tuning, and a more sporty exterior and interior.

Diversity of the model range

For those not very familiar with Kia models, it is worth noting that the EV3 is a subcompact crossover, the EV4 is offered in hatchback and fastback body styles, and the EV5 is a compact SUV. As is customary for Kia, the full-fledged GT versions look very similar to the existing GT-Line trims, having only minor differences and 20-inch alloy wheels.

Interior equipment

The car interiors feature bucket-style semi-seats, sports steering wheels with a GT logo, bright neon accents, and ambient lighting that changes depending on the selected driving mode. The equipment is rich and includes, as standard, a premium Harman Kardon audio system, a head-up display, and a remote smart parking assist system.

Technical specifications and architecture

From a technical point of view, all three electric models are built on the E-GMP platform and use the same 81.4 kWh battery pack. However, there are slight differences in the power of the dual electric motors. Specifically, the EV3 GT and EV4 GT develop 282 hp, while the EV5 GT is slightly more powerful at 302 hp.

Acceleration dynamics

According to Kia representatives, the low-slung EV4 GT offers “an even more agile and road-oriented interpretation of the GT philosophy.” It is also the fastest model in the trio, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. The smaller EV3 GT reaches the same mark in 5.7 seconds, while the larger and heavier EV5 GT does it in 6.2 seconds.

Special technologies and driving modes

All three models have a special GT driving mode that sharpens the response to power delivery, steering feel, and the operation of the standard electronically controlled suspension. They are also equipped with torque vectoring systems, virtual gear shift simulation, and active sound design, the goal of which is to make the driving process more exciting.

Production plans and future

Production of the sporty electric cars is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026. Information on pricing and availability in different markets will be announced closer to the start of sales. The EV3, EV4, and EV5 join the EV6 and EV9 in the fully electric GT lineup, which will be completed with the arrival of the sporty version of the all-new EV2, which also debuted at the Brussels Motor Show.

The simultaneous presentation of a whole range of GT versions underscores Kia’s strategic course of expanding its electric portfolio precisely in the high-performance car segment. This demonstrates the brand’s confidence in its technologies and its desire to compete not only on practicality but also on driving emotion. This approach could significantly change the perception of electric vehicles among driving enthusiasts, offering them a powerful alternative to conventional models without having to give up the benefits of electric propulsion.
