Chinese Man Tried to Sell a Fake Lamborghini and Got Hit with a Hefty Fine

For 2000 yuan (just over $300), he bought a body kit for his Hyundai to turn it into a Lamborghini. To find out how much his car’s value had increased after installing the “unofficial” styling kit, he parked the vehicle in the middle of a pedestrian zone…

Everything might have been fine, but the police did not appreciate the car owner’s creative move and added 12 penalty points to his driver’s license (the more points, the sooner it can be revoked) and issued him an 800-yuan fine for parking in a pedestrian zone. When the “seller” claimed he wasn’t actually trying to sell the car this way but just wanted to estimate the replica’s value, the officers were even more confused, questioning whether it was indeed a counterfeit.

Upon hearing a positive answer, the guardians of order decided to tow away this homemade automotive marvel. The reason?

According to the documents, it’s still a Hyundai. This is already the second such case in China. Last time, the owner of a similar “exclusive” simply had it confiscated and was promised its return only if he restored the car to its original condition. It’s worth noting that Ukraine also has plenty of fake supercars. Additionally, in Odessa, there’s a homemade Lamborghini Reventon.
