The official presentation of the Hongqi H9 took place in China. The luxurious Chinese sedan will go on sale in the spring starting at $40,000.
The rear-wheel-drive sedan is about 5 meters long with a wheelbase of 3 meters, meaning it is comparable in size to the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class. The appearance, however, is reminiscent of Rolls-Royce and was even developed with the involvement of a former designer from the British brand.
The new Hongqi H9 is very luxurious.
Its interior is trimmed with leather and wood, and you can choose two separate rear seats with electric drive. Naturally, the car features a virtual dashboard and a large touchscreen.
The interior even has a perfume diffuser. Among other options are tablets for rear passengers, air suspension, and adaptive cruise control.
The Hongqi H9 will be equipped with turbocharged gasoline engines of 2.0 liters (252 hp) and 3.0 liters (272 hp), as well as an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The top-end version accelerates to 100 km/h in 8 seconds. By the way, the H9 is far from the coolest and most expensive Hongqi; the brand’s lineup includes cars worth a million dollars.
