In China, the updated Beijing BJ80 has gone on sale. The car is known worldwide as a copy of the Mercedes G-Class.
The Chinese G-Wagen turns out to be not cheap – it costs 298-328 thousand yuan ($41,800 – 46,000). For this money, you can buy a Mercedes G-Wagen, albeit a used one. The new Beijing BJ80 almost completely replicates the original, though its front part is styled differently.
The G-Wagen copy retains the familiar angular profile, with characteristic side flares and wheel arch extensions also appearing.
The interior of the Beijing BJ80 is also done in a familiar style, although there are more differences here. The package includes 20-inch wheels, retractable steps, 360-degree cameras, and an audio system with a subwoofer.
The Chinese G-Wagen is still equipped with a 2.3-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 250 hp and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The drive can only be full.
