by April 1st, but it only became known now, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra became the fastest production electric car on the Nürburgring. The officially recorded time of 7 minutes 04.957 seconds allowed the Chinese sports sedan to leave behind even the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, which was previously considered the benchmark in the class.
Earlier, the SU7 Ultra had already attempted to conquer the “Green Hell”: last fall, a prototype lapped the Nordschleife in an impressive 6 minutes 46.874 seconds, but that result was only credited to the prototype category. To get into the record table among production cars, Xiaomi prepared a full-fledged road version — and now it officially outperforms even the Rimac Nevera, which previously held the top spot among electric supercars.
Behind the wheel of the SU7 Ultra was experienced Belgian racing driver Vincent Radermecker, and the car itself was equipped with a special Track Package. It includes:
- adaptive Bilstein EVO R suspension,
- carbon-ceramic Akebono brakes,
- Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS semi-slick tires,
- lightweight body kit with a fixed rear wing.
The interior also underwent changes: instead of a rear seat — the possibility to install a roll cage, in the front — sports bucket seats, minimum comfort, maximum speed.
However, the most important thing remained unchanged — three electric motors with a combined power of 1548 hp and 1770 Nm. 0 to 100 km/h — 1.98 seconds, top speed — 350 km/h. The 93.7 kWh battery provides a range of 520 km (CLTC) even in the track configuration.
