Club Version Subaru WRX with All-Wheel Drive, Rear Spoiler, and Manual Transmission

Anniversary Special Series for Australia

Subaru is celebrating the milestone of 60,000 WRX sedans delivered to Australia by introducing a new special edition called the AWD Club Spec Evo. This model pays homage to rally icons of the past, combining a manual transmission with a vibrant yellow hue. Production is limited to just 75 units.

Basis and Design

The AWD Club Spec Evo is based on the top-spec WRX AWD tS Spec B trim introduced last year and is a continuation of the Australia-exclusive 2024 Club Spec version. The car features a characteristic rear spoiler reminiscent of the STI days, but with unique equipment.

The main highlight is the exterior Sunrise Yellow paint, borrowed from the Australian BRZ tS Kiiro and the North American Yellow series. Here, it is combined with black and white decals on the rear doors, gold brake calipers, and a matte black finish for the 19-inch alloy wheels.

Interior and Equipment

The interior of the special WRX features a pair of Recaro sports seats upholstered in Ultrasuede and leather-like materials. The black interior theme is complemented by yellow perforations and stitching, as well as a Club Spec Evo badge and a numbered plaque.

Technical Specifications

The sports sedan inherited electronically controlled dampers with STI tuning, Brembo brake mechanisms, and a quad-exhaust system from the WRX AWD tS Spec B. The same applies to the six-speed manual transmission, which is the only option, and is paired with the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.

The turbocharged 2.4-liter boxer engine received no updates, delivering the usual 271 hp (202 kW) and 350 Nm of torque, just like the rest of the WRX lineup.

Price and Market Context

The 2026 Subaru WRX AWD Club Spec Evo model is already available for order in Australia at a price of 63,190 Australian dollars. This is 1,000 dollars more expensive than the flagship tS Spec B trim on which it is based, making it the most expensive WRX sedan on the Australian market.

Review: The 2026 Subaru Trailseeker Is An Insanely Fast Wagon That Just Happens To Be Electric

While Australia receives a visual punch in the form of Sunrise Yellow paint and a rear spoiler beloved by Subaru fans, more hardcore iterations of the VB-generation sedan have appeared in Japan. These include the limited 2025 WRX STI S210 series with a more powerful engine and the 2026 WRX STI Sport# with chassis components from STI Performance.

This limited series clearly demonstrates Subaru’s strategy in different markets: while some regions receive primarily aesthetic and hardware special editions, others, like Japan, serve as a testing ground for more radical technical experiments. The release of only 75 cars for Australia suggests that the model is likely aimed at collectors and the brand’s most devoted enthusiasts seeking uniqueness, not just additional horsepower. This approach helps maintain high interest in the WRX model in anticipation of future, possibly more revolutionary, changes to its powertrain architecture.
