Automatic photo enforcement of traffic violations in Ukraine should start working by the end of 2019. This was stated by the head of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Vladislav Krikliy, reports Auto-consulting.
Initially, the new system will work in Kyiv. “For the capital, 10 cameras have already been purchased, installed in 10 locations, and all approvals have been completed. Other cities are still waiting,” said Vladislav Krikliy.
Speed limit violators will receive penalty points. Initially, virtual points will be deducted, and once they are exhausted, a real fine will be issued. Drivers will receive notifications of violations at their place of residence via postal notice, SMS, and in the drivers’ electronic cabinet. An administrative protocol will be issued to the vehicle owner, but they will have the opportunity to enter a ‘proper user’ of the car in the registration data so that in case of violations, the fine will be issued to them.
