Compact Fiat Pickup Looks Like It’s Trying to Sneak into a Maserati Exhibition

Updated Fiat Toro: New Design and Technical Changes

The Fiat Toro, a pickup that debuted in South America in 2015, has received its second update. The car’s exterior has become more aggressive thanks to a redesigned front end with vertical grilles and powerful bumpers. The design is reminiscent of the Maserati style, which gives the model a more premium look.

Among the technical updates are two available powertrains: a 1.3-liter turbocharged petrol engine with flex-fuel capability (front-wheel drive) and a 2.2-liter turbo diesel with all-wheel drive. The diesel variant can carry up to 1000 kg of cargo and tow up to 400 kg.

Interior and Platform

The Toro’s interior has been updated with higher-quality upholstery materials, wood inserts, and an electronic parking brake. The multimedia system remains the same – a 7-inch instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch screen. The car is built on the Small Wide 4×4 LWB platform, which is also used by the Jeep Compass, Alfa Romeo Tonale, and other Stellantis models.

The presentation of the updated Toro is expected soon, as the cars have already started arriving at dealerships. For now, the model remains available only for South American markets.

Despite the updates, the Toro retains practicality thanks to plastic body elements and a functional design. The new version has every chance to continue the model’s success, which has already sold over 600,000 units. It is still unknown if other regions will receive similar updates in their Fiat lineups.
