Audi Concept Coupe Accidentally Shown Ahead of Official Premiere

Audi’s Preparation for the Munich Motor Show

Audi is trying to generate excitement ahead of the Munich Motor Show. The brand will use this event to present a completely new sports car. It is said to be something that occupies a position between the former TT and R8 models.

Update: Premature Image Leak

Audi Canada seems to have rushed the announcement of the future concept sports coupe, publishing the first image earlier than expected. The photo briefly appeared on their Facebook page before being removed, but Instagram users managed to take a screenshot.

We see a low-resolution profile that combines elements reminiscent of Audi, Bentley, and even the Jaguar Type 00 concept. The design combines soft curves and sharp lines, although the decision to cover the rear side window creates a strange profile. Judging by the roofline, there is a high probability that the concept may have a folding roof, possibly in a targa style.

Munich Motor Show and Audi Announcements

The Munich Motor Show will begin on September 9th, and German automakers will be in the spotlight. Among them, Audi is preparing to attract attention with the debut of a completely new sports concept car.

If that’s not enough excitement, the company has launched an advertising campaign by publishing two new teasers on social media. The first one shows the TT model and says: “Legends of the past are the blueprint for the future.”

Then the clip showcases a series of other models, including classic racing cars and the Avus concept. Although the new concept is not shown, Audi stated that for over a century they have been exploring the limits of the possible, shaping the industry with a desire to move forward.

Tribute to History and Technical Features

The second teaser pays tribute to the Auto Union Type C and D racing cars. These Silver Arrows redefined performance and had lightweight aluminum bodies, as well as a mid-engine layout that was “years ahead of its time.”

Publication from Audi on Instagram.

Although Audi reveals little about its latest concept, CEO Gernot Döllner recently disclosed that it is their TT Moment 2.0. The executive also confirmed that the car will be electric and something intermediate between the TT and R8.

The concealed image of the concept suggests it will be smaller than the A5 Coupe and Convertible, and this makes sense, as the company is expected to offer a new sports car based on the electric Porsche 718. In fact, spy photos captured a possible mule in April, indicating that work on the production model is already underway.

Expectations for Upcoming Announcements

Given that the advertising campaign is just beginning, we will probably learn more about the concept before its debut next month.

Another publication from Audi on Instagram.

This new concept from Audi could be an important step in their electric strategy, combining the heritage of sports models with modern technology. Its positioning between the TT and R8 indicates an attempt to attract fans of both models by offering a unique design and likely high dynamic performance. The use of the Porsche platform could provide advantages in performance and efficiency, making this model potentially competitive in the electric vehicle market.
