Audi Concept Coupe Accidentally Shown Ahead of Official Announcement

Audi’s Preparation for the Munich Motor Show

Audi is actively preparing for the Munich Motor Show, which begins on September 9th, planning to present a completely new sports car concept. The brand is trying to generate excitement around this event by releasing teasers on social media. One of them includes a mention of the TT model with the caption: “Legends of the past are the plan for the future.”

Premature Image Leak of the Concept

Update: Audi Canada appears to have posted the first image of the upcoming concept sports coupe earlier than planned. The photo appeared on their Facebook page but was quickly deleted. Instagram users such as Wilcoblok and Cochespias managed to take screenshots. The low-resolution image shows the car’s profile, combining elements reminiscent of Audi, Bentley, and even the Jaguar Type 00 concept. The design includes soft curves and sharp lines, but the enclosed rear side window creates a somewhat odd silhouette. The roofline suggests the possibility of a folding top, perhaps in a targa style.

Historical References and Concept

A second teaser pays homage to the Auto Union Type C and D race cars, which were notable for their lightweight aluminum bodies and mid-engine layout, ahead of their time. Although Audi is not revealing details, CEO Gernot Döllner noted that this is their “TT Moment 2.0,” confirming that the car will be electric and will occupy the niche between the TT and R8.

Expectations and Potential Technical Features

The leaked concept image indicates it will be smaller than the A5 Coupe and Convertible, which is logical, as the company is expected to present a new sports car based on the electric Porsche 718 EV. In April, spy photographers already captured a possible mule, indicating active development of a production model. Given that the teaser campaign is just beginning, more details can be expected before the debut next month.

This presentation could be a key moment for Audi in the context of the transition to electric vehicles, demonstrating how the brand plans to combine its heritage with innovation. The potential use of the Porsche platform indicates deeper collaboration within the Volkswagen Group, which could accelerate the development and implementation of new technologies. This approach not only preserves the spirit of classic models but also opens new horizons for future sports cars.
