Royal Koenigsegg Showed Who the True King Among Electric Hypercars Is

Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Sets a New Record

The Swedish hypercar Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut broke a world record by accelerating from 0 to 400 km/h and returning to a complete stop in just 25.21 seconds. This result turned out to be slightly better than the previous record held by the Rimac Nevera R (25.79 seconds). The manufacturer also announced that updates to improve dynamics will be available to all owners of this model.

Just a few years ago, breaking the 400 km/h mark was considered an incredible achievement. Now, modern hypercars not only easily cross this boundary but do so significantly faster. For example, the Bugatti Chiron in 2017 took 41.96 seconds for a similar acceleration and braking cycle – 16 seconds slower than the Jesko Absolut.

Technical Achievements

To set the new record, Koenigsegg used an updated Absolut Overdrive system, which reduced traction control system intervention during launch. This allowed for better acceleration. Interestingly, the test run took place on a runway that was still wet from rain, making the result even more impressive.

“We are constantly working to improve our cars, and this record is just one of the stages,” stated Koenigsegg.

In addition to the main record, the Jesko Absolut showed impressive intermediate results: acceleration to 400 km/h in 16.77 seconds and braking from that speed to a complete stop in 8.44 seconds.

This result once again confirms that modern hypercars achieve incredible performance that seemed like fantasy not long ago. Technologies developed for such cars often later transition into production models, influencing the development of the entire automotive market.
