Nightmare from Roush — the closest analogue to the new version of the F-150 SVT Lightning

Roush Introduces the Powerful 2026 Nitemare Pickup

Although automakers have significantly reduced their focus on powerful street pickups, tuning ateliers like Roush Performance are ready to fill this niche. The company has just announced an updated version of its charged pickup based on the Ford F-150, named the 2026 Nitemare.

The main updates for the new model are a new graphic package on the body and certain interior improvements. As before, it is based on the F-150 in XL or XLT trim levels.

Exterior and Chassis

The pickup’s exterior is easily recognizable, and the main external change is the new graphic decals on the sides. They feature the model name “Nitemare” and a motif resembling a race winner’s checkered flag. Furthermore, the vehicle received a grille with backlighting and a Roush logo, as well as a hood with ventilation openings.

The package also includes a sport exhaust system, an upgraded braking system with perforated discs, and 22-inch gloss-black wheels paired with General Tire G-MAX AS-07 tires.

The most noticeable change is the lowered suspension, which includes performance coilovers, lowered knuckles, twin-tube shock absorbers, progressive-rate springs, and a reinforced anti-roll bar.

Thanks to these modifications, the pickup has gained an aggressive stance: the front is lowered by 3 inches (76 mm), and the rear by 5 inches (127 mm).

Interior Updates

For the 2026 model, Roush engineers also worked on improving the quality of interior finishing and ergonomics. The Nitemare now features fully carpeted trim, embroidered floor mats, and a leather steering wheel with red carbon fiber inserts.

Standard features remain Raven Black leather seats with red accents and embroidery on the headrests. Other options include aluminum pedals, a serial number plate, and an available carbon fiber trim package.

The Heart of the Pickup — a Super-Powered Engine

Although the base version of the Nitemare does not receive additional power, customers can order an option with a supercharger for the 5.0-liter V8 engine.

This kit allows the pickup to develop over 705 horsepower (526 kW) and 860 Nm of torque, making it almost equal in power to the F-150 Raptor R (720 hp).

The full conversion package to turn a regular F-150 into a Nitemare costs an additional $22,999, while the supercharger kit itself is priced at $8,899.99.

The appearance of models like the Nitemare is a reminder that demand for high-performance yet practical vehicles remains stable, despite the general trend towards electrification. Roush successfully combines aggressive design, improved interior ergonomics, and extreme power, offering an alternative to factory sport pickups. Interestingly, for such a price, the customer gets a vehicle capable of competing with top versions from the manufacturer itself, making the offer attractive to brand enthusiasts and power equipment fans.
